Local Imam Told us this lovely analogy
You buy a Lovely new expensive garment and the day you wear it you get a stain on it just before you head out for Eid salat. PANIC !! you try everything to get the stain off and its in a spot that's easily noticeable. You're now besides yourself not knowing what to do angry with yourself wishing you'd been a bit more careful.
You can still pray salat but you are worried about what people might say who might be watching and who's talking about you.
So why don't we have the same energy when it comes to cleaning our hearts ? do you panic when it has a stain on it ? why are we slow to clean it off ? .... Because people can't see that stain that's why but you know who can .....
Subhanallah we are more concerned about what others think than what Allah thinks. Let's flip that and that's the level of iman we all need to work towards inshallah
