Non-muslim here. I'm more familiar with creationism's account of the bible and every christian I've met interprets it in their own way.

How about in Islam?

  1. What does the Quran teach about the origins of life/man and the universe and how specific does it go?
  2. Do most muslims interpret those teachings in the literal sense? Are there debates in the muslim community about those issues?
