Did Muslim writers or travelers comment on the church music of the Renaissance era in Europe (or even the Baroque, and Classical era)? What were their opinions?
Just to give an example of what I'm thinking of, here is a link to a performance of Alonso Lobo's work, composed upon the death of Philip II of Spain in 1598.
On a different note: what are your opinions about this kind of music, as Muslims living in the 21st century?
