From Children of Monsters by Jay Nordlinger. I highly recommend this book.
Uday had a name for himself, "Abu Sarhan", The Wolf. He raped anyone and everyone. He raped constantly. His goons would kidnap girls and women for him. He would simply point them out. He kidnapped and raped the daughters of ordinary men, of course. But he kidnapped and raped the daughters - including the underage daughters - of powerful men, too. For example, the governors of provinces. No one in Iraq could stop Uday, except for one man: the dictator [saddam]. Uday would crash weddings, abducting the bride. One groom killed himself on the spot. Another time, Uday kidnapped and raped a newly-wed on her honeymoon. Afterward, she threw herself off a balcony, in shame.
Ofcourse as we all know, Uday did a lot more horrible things. Apparently he was in to torture of all sorts and personally dipped people in acid baths, drilled holes in their skills etc.
The moral of this story comes in the form of the famous fatwa bin baz gave, declaring Saddam outside fold of Islam and so declared it jihad to fight him. But of course this was only after Saddam was threatening the Saudi state. Not a word about this before, because you know, we are all to obey rulers, no matter how much they beat us, but if they threaten the Saudis in any way, well then they are outside the fold of Islam and hence eligible to be deposed! Not a big surprise here given the Saudi state came in to existence only by backstabbing and rebelling against the legitimate and recognized caliphate of the time - a fact conveniently forgotten by the salafi/wahhabis.
May God guide us and let us see the reality of the world we live in, unadulterated by our own prejudices and cultural upbringing.
