I am a Christian who desires to learn about Islam as Islam sees itself rather than relying on non-Muslim sources. I am currently reading Martin Lings' "Mohammad: His Life Based on the Earliest Sources". I will be reading the Qu'ran eventually but wanted to know a suggested book that provides an overview of Islam's teachings. Thanks in advance!
