اسلام عليكم ورحمة الله وبركاته
Hope you all are well. Jumaah Mubarak
My friend was getting his motorcycle repaired so I stopped by to give him company. It was time for Jumaah Salah, so I went to a nearby mosuqe situated underneath a bridge next to a railway station. The khutbah was audible to a range where the whole bridge was echoing with the Maulana screaming from the top of his lungs. There were loudspeakers all around in every corner of the underbridge. The volume was way too loud. You could seriously feel the vibrations inside.
I went to the mosque and sat outside, they were almost done with the khutbah. As it was near to the railway station, the carpet had formed grimes and was filthy. I have no estimate as to when they were last cleansed.
Now was the time for Salah, the muazzin started screaming again! Everyone in the vicinity were visible irritated. Because these masajids are on budget.. with another mosque just *200m away, the quality of speakers were old school with a lot of disturbance and squeaks. All the khushoo in Salah vanished coz it was very annoying.
I'm writing this because of one reason that has bothered me , the victim card that Muslims always play. Are we really this innocent? Few days ago, I uploaded a post on an Indian sub talking about the noise pollution caused by Hindu revelries. I got fair replies. Someone sarcastically posted about the adhan which happens around the year and that it should also be brought to control, he later condemned and objected the misuse of speakers during such celebrations.
The question now is, can we Muslims also act fairly? During muharram ,milad UN nabi celebrations and also in mosques where we confine with certain rules and keep everything in order. Let there not be this sense of commotion in the atmosphere where Allah SWT is worshipped. Wallahi have some courtesy for others.
WSalam
