To all of you living in the Middle East, I personally want to apologize for my country's involvement in invasions, occupations, imperialism, etc.

Non-religious American here.

I just want to say sorry for the horrible things my country and many of the other Western countries have done to your people and your country over the past century because of the various political and corporate interests of our corrupt and/or ignorant leaders throughout our history....and due to the ignorance of the American people.

Regardless of any of our philosophical, religious, and political differences, I respect your right to live the life that feels honest and right for you.

And I sincerely wish each of you and your families the best of health, religious freedom, a great education, and a safe and welcoming country to call home where you can peacefully live how you choose.

I and many others will continue to vote for American leaders who oppose Western occupation in the Middle East.
