One of the biggest complaints from Those who've done umrah was that they were not allowed to go again for 2 years unless they paid £400 which can and has put many people off. Alhamdulilah this has now been removed and we can go year after year if allah wills.
Another major news is that they have introduced a Tourist Visa to attract many non-muslims to the kingdom similar to what they do in the UAE. This they say will bring in much needed revenue to the country as Oil is no longer the cash cow it once was visitors will no longer need to submit their passports to the embassy all they have to do is apply through their e-Visa website and for £90 you will be issued with a 90 day Visa.
Women can travel without a guradian if over 25 and have booked through an agency. This has only just been announced so more details will hopefully follow in the coming weeks
