Today in school we were have a Socratic Seminar, and it got to the point where people were trying to defend religion (long story).
And then one guy was like “Christianity isn’t bad like that. It teaches you to be good to your neighbors and be peaceful and all that. Also, Islam doesn’t teach all that violence. It teaches you well... (stuttering)... to not be bad?”
And he’s not even Christian. He knows that Christianity teaches love, and has no idea what the fastest growing religion teaches. HELLO? Open up the Quran. It’s as simple, as, that.
Allah (swt) says:** “And be good to the neighbor who is your relative and to the neighbor who is not a relative.”** (The Holy Qur'an 4:36)
Christians broadcast their few peaceful verses. Why don’t we broadcast OUR PLETHORA of peaceful verses?
We need T shirts with quotes. Maybe Muslim speakers that constantly acknowledge the peace in the Quran. Just something to let the world know what the Quran is all about. Because right now, all the non Muslims can recall about one fucking verse, and that’s 4:34 .
