I would like an islamic perspective on this topic and perhaps sources, such as hadiths doctors opinions and even quran. I feel very strongly about this topic as I have experienced this throughout my childhood, so if I become a parent one day, I definitely do NOT want to pass this onto my children without knowing.
I've also noticed the vast number of ex-muslims fall under this category, yet nobody pays any attention to it. It is sad to see how little the ummah pays attention to this topic. If you search on online for example 'childhood emotional neglect Islam', you will find most say 'abuse' when in reality it is not a form of abuse but neglect and not a malicious kind too. And if you search tarbiyyah, there are articles about very poor parenting of the micro-mangement kind being peddled as 'islamic'. Very misunderstood and very ignored.
It reminds me also of two end times hadiths:
-
children will be filled with rage
-
The mother will give birth to her master
I feel like these two, especially the rage one comes about from lack of love so when the child gets older they cannot look after themselves so the parent has to be forced to do so. Many parents think it is simple 'disobedience' but it is so much more than that and labelling it as such is very dismissive.
Please help me find sources, and info, and perhaps explain if you are knowledgeable on the topic, please put down your thoughts. I am hoping also to build my subreddit with extra sources but I am having trouble finding more.
