So, I'm an ex-muslim and I understand ex-muslims are not particularly liked around here, and I'm not here to debate or to cause trouble I'm just genuinely curious. I just want to know if someone leaves Islam and he later on he wants to rejoin, can he? Or is he doomed to the hellfire? My local imam said that if someone leaves Islam they are damned to Hell. So if this is the case, if I(an atheist) realized Islam was true why shouldn't I worship Iblis if I'm doomed to Hell? Please cite Quran/Hadith if you feel necessary please. Thanks!
