Why is the Day of Arafah given this name?

Al-Imām ibn al-Jawzi [may Allāh have mercy on him] said:

“One of the reasons is:

It was given this name because [Angel] Jibreel [عَلَيْهِ السَّلاَم] showed [Prophet] Ibrāheem [عَلَيْهِ السَّلاَم] the rites [of Hajj] and then would say ‘do you now know [i.e. understand].’”

The second reason [why it is given this name is]

“Ādam and Hawā [عَلَيْهِمَا السَّلاَم] reaquainted [after being expelled from Heaven] there [i.e. at Mount Arafah].”
