So obviously the kuffar say that the Prophet (saw) was either a liar or delusional/crazy. Most will probably say a liar since it would be amazing for someone crazy to start the world's fastest growing religion out of the desserts in Makkah.
Not only that, but it goes against the documented biography we have even before his Prophethood started.
But my main point is this - if the non Muslims say he was a liar, they are actually implying that the Sahaba were in on it and this was just one big conspiracy.
The only problem is...what was there to gain from it? Especially after the Prophet's(saw) death where they had no reason to hide this "conspiracy" even further. A lot were very poor and their lives constantly endangered; at least in the beginning.
Because the Sahaba themselves narrated hadiths that they personally witnessed. Whether that be the story of the jinn stealing from one of the Sahaba and then telling him about ayatul kursi, or Abu Bakr witnessing the Prophet (saw) being shielded from the sight of the wife of Abu Lahab. Or the enemy who tried to approach the Prophet because of the bounty, but his horse kept throwing him off as he approached. Or the two Sahaba who both saw the same dream about how to perform the adhan. Yeah, they have to say they were in on this big conspiracy.
There are a bunch of stories, so in reality when they say he is a liar, they are actually saying he started this big lie with hundreds/thousands of Sahaba being in on it....which of course makes it sound even more ridiculous.
