I vaguely remember when I was studying theology that an Islamic invasion (in Rome???) or somewhere ruled for a few decades and rather than killing or coverting Jews and Christians they forced them to live together in acceptance of their beliefs.
What I read could be very wrong though, can someone correct this? That essentially Islam founded religious freedom amongst the Abrahamic religions.....
