Abu Huraira reported: The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, came to his companions while they were laughing and talking. The Prophet said:
By the one in whose hand is my soul, if you knew what I knew, you would laugh little and weep often.
The Prophet departed and people started weeping, so Allah Almighty revealed to him:
O Muhammad, why have you made my servants despair?
The Prophet returned and he said:
Give glad tidings, follow the right course, and seek nearness to Allah.
