The idea of mystical/religious experiences resulting from consumption of psychedelic drugs is not readily accepted in Islamic Societies, but why and how did it come to this? Also, I've always wondered if Islamic art is inspired by psychedelic use since it's kind of representative of the kind of complex patterns and geometry experienced during a psychedelic experience.
