I’ve seen a lot of meat products around a variety of stores who have been certified by a self-proclaimed body that certifies the products are “halal.” Upon getting into the details of what they deem to be halal, there is no exact mention of the animal having to be hand slaughtered by a person of the book. In fact, they mention EVERYTHING correctly but that point exactly. I’m not sure if these meats could be hand slaughtered or done by machine; which in case wouldn’t be permissible to eat.
I’ve tried looking around and couldn’t find anything. Also tried calling their HQ number and got no answer. Anyone have any idea? If so could you cite a source.
