I won't lie, I've long been highly critical of Islam as a religion but I also realize that most of my views on Islam were put to me through the lens of others who were already decidedly against Islam. I primarily want to study the religion itself and the role it has played on the world stage throughout history. I do plan on reading the Quran (as well as the Hadith or whatever else y'all may recommend to me). My major for my undergrad wasn't related to religion, but I did take courses for "The Middle East" and "Religions of the World" so I'm not afraid to get down into the weeds.

I'm looking forward to taking this journey and I do want to keep an open mind so I was hoping that someone here might recommend a lecture series to me they feel best represents Islam that I could listen to in the background while I do other things.

Thank you!
