I have learned about religions and I have not felt any connection with them. I do believe in prayer and speaking in confidence to a higher power, however, I haven't been able to truly relate to any single religion and so I don't follow any religious practices or guiding principles.

What are some common misconceptions of Islam? I live in Canada where Islamophobia has been on the rise and I don't understand the motives behind it. Although I disagree with some principles from all religions I have studied, I don't know the extent of the motivation behind sharia law.

I would like to become more informed and less misinformed about the guiding principles of Islam and what the religion as a whole has planned for the world. I have heard scary things regarding people who have no relation to Islam, and I feel as if these topics are blown out of proportion.

That said, I have also witnessed scary things come out of all religions, I would just like to be properly informed about Islam as an agnostic.
