I’m a Christian so I probably would just cause unwanted shit here, but I swear there used to be a subreddit just for asking questions about Islam where Muslims would answer.
Anyways, I was surprised by the Wikipedia article on Muslim eschatology which said one of the signs of the endtimes would be Christ’s return to defeat the “antichrist”.
I know Jesus is considered a prophet in Islam, but I never knew he had a special place above any of the others.
Why do muslims believe Jesus will return to defeat the “antichrist”?
Why not Mohammad? Why are Jesus and Mohammad both considered great prophets, but Jesus is the one Mohammad said would come back to defeat the “antichrist”?
If Jesus is who Mohammad prophecisied was the one to defeat the “antichrist”, why do muslims not accept the word of Christ Jesus who Mohammad said would dispatch “dajjal” and usher in the end?
Again, I wish I could ask this in the “askmuslim” subreddit I thought existed, and I am a Christian so I hope you don’t view me as biased.
But I also used to be an atheist, and a terrible one at that. And I was saved by the same Christ you expect to be saved by in the end.
So I want to know how the Mohammad-Jesus trust dichotomy is understood andid also like to know which English Quran is viewed as most correct.
In the Christian world, there is much debate about which English Bible is most accurate and the differences in them are shocking, bordering on satanic. I personally use the Strong’s KJV, a hyperlinked bibliography of all the times any word was used in either language throughout the text from the earliest texts available when it was made. It has been justified through more recent archeology of even earlier texts.
I would be most grateful if something like this existed for the Quran and would like to read it.
Also as a fun aside: what are some wierd beliefs some muslim sects have that you think are wrong. Christianity is unfortunately full of these arguments despite having a good book to work with.
