I know a little bit about jinns, mostly that they're described as 'smokeless beings of fire', that they live in a realm separate from the human world and that unlike angels, they have free will, so there can be good jinns and bad jinns. (Correct me if I'm wrong on any of that)

But what is their significance in Islam? Not many Muslims that I've seen talk about jinns and I'm wondering what is the point of their inclusion in Islam.
