Before anything I just want to say that I am not trying to stir any conflict between our Muslim brothers and sisters. I love you all regardless of your opinion and stance.
With that being said, what are your thoughts on Rejib Tayyip Erdogan, the leader of Turkey?
With the recent heat he has been getting over the Istanbul elections, he seems to have gained a lot of heat in the media.
Now more than ever is he getting bashed by Arabs, even Turks, and the western media alike. All sides seem to cave in on him.
However it is important to acknowledge his accomplishments for the Turkish economy, foreign influence in Africa-Senegal,Somalia, Balkans, and the development of Turkish military. He has also spoken out against and for Palestine, Uighurs, Eastern European muslims, etc. He certainly has a stance against Saudi.
Nonetheless he has been known to use brutish tactics to maintain his power, condemning and even hailing athletes, journalists, and media outlets that have spoken out against him.
But do the good outweigh the bad in this situation? In my considered opinion yes- however he will not stay in power for long if he continues to shut down those who hold difference opinion rather than winning the hearts of the people
Does anyone here have a specific stance one him? and if so please justify it.
I beg every one here to remain civil, and nice- at the end of the day we are bond together by Islam. Not our political stances.
