Dear People,
Remember that in our faith modesty is taken seriously and is one part of the 66-68 tenets of faith. Often in our societies we get obsessed with clothing, which is important, further more it’s usually about women, proper covering for women is without doubt important, but what about the other parts of modesty? Men should also observe it in their clothing, that doesn’t mean you should always wear a Jubba but do you need to wear those muscle fit t-shirts? Do you need to wear those shorts? Why must you buy that overpriced designer sunglasses can’t a mid range one do the trick? We also need to check our modesty in other parts of our life, in this day and age we always need to compete with one another show each other up and sell ourselves, but as Muslims we should keep that attitude to the interview room when applying for jobs and avoid it in social interactions. Also we need to see if those posts on social media are actually worth it, are we being modest by flaunting our good times or wealth, why can’t we just send the pics to family of it’s that important? Modesty is about the way we dress, behave and interact with others. As Muslims we need to avoid being arrogant and big headed, we need to submit to the will of Allah SWT and follow the sunnah of our beloved Prophet SAW as best we can.
