Eid Mubarak! It was reported from Ibn Mas`ud that the Prophet SAW used to say: Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar, La Ilaha Illa Allah, Wallahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar Walillahi Al Hamd. [Allah is the greatest, Allah is the greatest. No god but Allah, and Allah is the greatest. Allah is the greatest and praise be to Him]." It is desirable to pronounce Takbir in masjids, homes, and paths.
The prophet SAW would shower and wear nice clothes on Eid. He would also never go to Eid Al fitr prayer without eating something (Sunnah is an odd number of dates) to signify that we are done with fasting.
