I'm not really that knowledgeable but please bear with me.

If you read the story of Dzul Karnain you'll find that a lot of his story have no similarity of any figures in histories.

I think he's a prophesied leader, a man that soon will lead us all, in the future.

Look at his story, he's a man who moved from East to West instead of West to east like Alexander the great does.

He also erected a thick metallic wall, which is super impossible to do during the times of Cyrus the great.

Besides there's no culture on the west side of the old world that sports a horn on their helmets (Vikings horned helmets didn't count since it's actually proven to be fictional and their helmets actually have no horns) this is of course, opposed to some of the eastern cultures that actually have horns albeit not really a horn but look like one for example, a samurai helmet.

Im sorry if this sounds like a crazy rambling but I'm just theorising and there's might be some huge things that i missed.
