Basically my question is what are the rules for how close you can physically be with your significant other DURING the fasting period part of the day. For example, can we lay with each other touching arms & legs? Like watching tv for instance. Can I kiss him on the lips for a second ? Or on the cheek? Can he kiss me back? Like where are the lines drawn? I read somewhere before that as long as what you do doesn’t lead to ejaculation it’s okay. How true is this?
For reference: a quote from this website I found
“A man who is observing an obligatory fast is not permitted to do anything with his wife that will lead to ejaculation. People vary in how quickly they reach climax; some of them are slow and can control themselves completely, as ‘Aa’ishah (may Allaah be pleased with her) said concerning the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him), “he was the most able of you to control his desire.” Some of them cannot control themselves and ejaculate quickly. Such a person should not be intimate with his wife and touch her or kiss her etc when observing an obligatory fast. If a person knows that he can control himself, then he can kiss and hug his wife even when observing an obligatory fast, but he must beware of intercourse because having intercourse (during the day) in Ramadaan for one who is obliged to fast results in five things: “
The website: (has more than just the quote I added)
This is my first Ramadan with him while we are living together & I really just want to know what my boundaries are. I don’t want to ruin his fast.
Thank you !!
Edit: btw my husband believes no touching of any kind during the fasting period & doesn’t necessarily believe that website I found so I’m looking for other people’s opinions. Ultimately I’ll do what he’s comfortable with.
