Question about Prophet Adam and Iblis

So I was thinking and had some questions about the prophet Adam and iblis.

So Adam and Hawa were created and placed in Jannah, but before this they were presented to the angels, and this is where iblis disobeyed Allah Swt, and claimed to mislead humans until the day of judgement.

However, if Adam and Eve were originally placed in heaven (did this mean this originally weren’t going to be tested, and that they wouldn’t be subject to the day of judgement?), then how could iblis know that he could misguide them until the day of judgement?

I’ve read so far that it might be that Adam and Hawa were never placed in Jannah, rather a beautiful garden on earth or elsewhere? Were humans always to be tested? The major question I guess is where were Adam and Eve before Earth?

Can someone explain this to me?
