It may seem like a very simple question, but let me explain. I’m a born Pakistani Muslim, with a very religious mother and a pretty religious father, but not as much as my mother (May Allah swt reward them both). They both increased in religiosity after I had grown up even though they were good Muslims before, and all I can remember them telling me about dua is asking Allah swt for things...but it just seems a bit...off(?) to just ask Allah swt for things in dua. I feel like there’s an element or so I’m missing. Any guidance would be appreciated, Jazakallaukhairan!
