Hello friends,
I'm a 36 year old Catholic living near Washington D.C. My country is being infested with atheists and people that hate religion generally. They blame religion for all the ills of the world, especially war.
Our media only judges religion by the abuses; so if 5% of Catholic Priests committed an abuse, the media acts like it was 95%. The media also scapegoats Islam, too.
Anyways, I'm trying my best to stand up for God and religion and it's a difficult thing these days. America is no longer Christian or religious as it once was.
What's interesting is that the suicide rate in America has risen 30% since 1999. A large part of this is because religion and faith are dying. In the Muslim world, suicide rates are very low.
Anyways, I try to tell people it's in their interest to be religious because they'll be happier in this world and the next.
To that argument, people say "Well, what about Muslims? Don't you think they're going to Hell?"
I respond: "Of course, not. Anyone that loves God and loves their neighbor will hopefully go to Heaven."
So, keep loving God and loving your neighbor :)
