I’ve been told that my brother/friend died today. The cause of his death was a drug overdose. No one can say this was suicidal because it is possible to overdose on something unknowingly, allah knows best. If it was suicidal then I have a few questions;
What is the ruling on suicides in Islam? Can you pray for a person who committed suicide? If I change myself for the better because of this persons death will they receive good deeds (for example, I realize that death is nearer than we think so I stop listening to music because of this incident).
To my knowledge suicide=hell point blank period. So like what is the point of prayer janaza/making dua for a person who committed suicide? It seems like nothing you do will help this person.
I still can’t believe he is gone, he was trying to get his life together and be ready for Ramadan. Subhanallah.
