I visited a mosque for prayer a few years ago but I felt how non-Catholics must feel at their first Mass. Or anyone's first time in a Zumba class. I went into the room where you wash up but was the only one their so I didn't know if just washing my feet was okay. The stuff I'd read made it seem like it was a really involved process. I arrived in time (according to the web site) and found a place way in the back. There were only two others there. After a long time more people showed up and, a while after that, the ... "leader" showed up. I felt really awkward trying to follow along.
Is there a better way than just showing up? And is it okay to just hang in the back and watch for the first (or second) time?
