salam. i want to improve my relationship with the Quran. i want to get back into the habit starting this Ramadan. one struggle i have is that, when i read a translation for the quran (yusuf ali's), i usually am filled with doubt and distress. if i read commentary or tafseer of the quran, such as from this site, i am also filled with doubt and distress. reading without a translation distresses me too, because i feel disconnected from what i'm reading. btw i'm only providing the example of where i'm getting translations and tafseer from so you have an idea of where i'm coming from, as opposed to if reading a famously untrue source.
i really want to feel the peace most feel when they read the quran, but i guess shaytan is really good at distracting me.
this isn't a troll post btw. i imagine some exmuslims will try to message me because of this, but i do have reasons for believing in the truthfulness of Prophet Muhammad (sallahu alayhi wassalam), and am not interested in discussions about this. i really just do want help, specifically from fellow muslims. jazakh Allahu khair
