#MuslimWomensDay is back for yet another year to remind the world that we are here, we aren’t going anywhere, and we talk back!
For those of you who may not know, the #MuslimWomensDay campaign was pioneered by MuslimGirl.com in response to widespread misrepresentation and hijacking of our narrative. How we saw ourselves represented in the media was a far cry from the diversity of what it meant to be a millennial Muslim woman, and with that stereotyping came misunderstanding and fear of the unknown.
And so, on the 27th of March, 2017, armed with a fierce determination to take back our narrative and a defiant urge to revolutionize how the world perceived Muslim women, MuslimGirl.com inaugurated this campaign to flood the internet with original content detailing the authentic stories of Muslim women.
