I don’t understand why some scholars dub music to be halal when the Hadith is quite explicit and seems to be authentic, I mean it’s in bukhari. Here:
“Among my ummah there will certainly be people who permit zinaa, silk, alcohol and musical instruments…” (Narrated by al-Bukhaari ta’leeqan, no. 5590; narrated as mawsool by al-Tabaraani and al-Bayhaqi. See al-Silsilah al-Saheehah by al-Albaani, 91).
Shouldn’t this Hadith itself be a warning for those who deem music permissible? Shouldn’t it be a greater sin to make something haram halal? It’s being put side by side with Zina for heavens sake. Am I missing something? Enlighten me!
