Almost always when I pray behind an Imam, when the recitation is loud, he prolongs al fatiha, reciting it in slow pace and beautifying his voice. But then once recitation is quiet, even during the same prayer, he's finished with al fatiha within a few seconds - much, much faster than before, as if he omitts every prolonging due to tajweed and the slow pace and just does it really fast.
Shouldn't we recite the same way whether it's loud or quiet? Am I missing something? Ive never understood this.
