I am from Dublin in Ireland. Yesterday a terrible crime was committed. There is a somewhat famous crypt here where the bodies naturally mummify. Somebody broke in and smashed the place up, destroying some of the bodies and stealing the head from one. This body is thought to be about 800 years old and is known as the crusader because of the way it was posed. Most people believe that this is the work of local scumbags and I agree.
One theory has been that this might be the work of Islamic Fundamentalists who were getting revenge for the crusades by decapitating the body of a crusader. I was wondering if Islam would have anything to say about this? I'm sure it favours treating the dead with respect but maybe because this body was a crusader there might be something permitting this?
