Hi r/islam!
So I would just like some knowledge/advice on males and females shaking hands, and what Islam has to say on the matter.
I'm a teacher in a UK secondary school, and I teach quite a lot of Muslim girls. When it comes to Parent's Evening (Parent Teacher Conference for those of you outside the UK), I never know when I am supposed to offer a handshake or not. I've heard some things about Muslim women not shaking hands with men due to their faith (please correct me if I am wrong/misinformed!). But then also I have had many Muslim women accept or even offer a handshake.
Any information on the topic would he greatly appreciated, as it is a reasonably big source of anxiety for me when it comes to meeting parents!
