It is my understanding that Islam is somewhat born out of Judaeo-christian beliefs, but I don't know to what extent. For instance, Christians heavily rely on Judaisms most holy texts, the Torah and Tanakh (the Law, the Prophets and the Psalms). However, texts like the Talmud are not accepted by Christianity as a holy text. Do Muslims read the Torah/Tanakh (old testament/Hebrew Scriptures) regularly along side the Quran?

What about the Christian Scriptures? Are these a part of the Islamic canon? If not, do Islamic beliefs about Jesus only center around what is written in the Quran or do any Christian texts come into play?

Thank you :)
