Insallah, after winterbreak the last term of my school will begin and Insallah I will graduate with a degree in business economics (make dua for me, going through a tuff time).
I was thinking that after high school/ upper secondary school would be a good time to seek proper Islamic knowledge from the basics of Islam, to higher things like aqidah, fiqh and the seerah all under a sheikh simply for the reason that besides watching youtube videos of Islam, reading articals, tweets and reddit posts.. I know almost nothing and if i dont presue knowledge My Iman will eventually fade away and I need to find a way to keep me steadfast on Islam for YEARS. And since I literally have no idea what i want to do with my life after high school, I belive i can use this time to seek knowlegde and after that presue studies in Uni.
The problem is I dont know where to start and I am one hundred procent sure my parents will not be supporting my decision of presuing Islamic knowledge.
I mean where do I start? None of the mosques here offer lessions of fiqh under a certain madhab nor do they give aqidah lessions. I know sites like seekershub exist but it just feels weird learing Islam through the internet instead under a sheikh which is the traditional way. A dream would of course be to fly to a muslim country and study there ( could be anyting tbh, fiqh,tafsir,hafiz) but then again I speak and read zero arabic and chances of me being under creppy people like deobandi, breweli or salafis could be very high.
For the older Muslims here: How did you do when seeking Islamic knowledge? What is the best way and time?
And for the younger ones and old ones: How do you plan to do or am i just paranoid?
