I know owning a dog is haram, because they are considered dirty and make angels stay away from your house. But what about cats? I heard in ancient mythology (not Islamic mythology) that devils hate cats and cats keep devils away. Not saying I believe this but I was just pointing it out. So what is the ruling on owning a cat in one's home?
