What would you honestly do if your child apostatized from Islam?

I've recently read some horrible stories about what happens to people when they tell their muslim parents about their lack of religiosity and I'm wondering if these people are the loud minority or if this is common. I believe there is a lot of misinformation floating around on the internet. So let's put an end to that.

If your child came out as an exmuslim, would you just accept their decision and continue to treat them the same as before? Would you denounce them as your child? Would you only kick them out? Would you continue to support him/her financially?
