If a Muslim, apart from religious moral beliefs, is moderate in terms of tolerance as well as in other aspects (politics, economics, etc.) Does that make them a liberal Muslim?
Example 1: Man prays 5 times a day, fasts, and basically follows the 5 pillars of Islam - however he has friends that are gay and favours equal rights for them (despite homosexual acts being a sin) Does that make him liberal?
Example 2: Man follows Islam except for the political aspect - he doesn't believe politics and religion should mix. Is he your typical liberal Muslim?
Example 3: Convert Muslim still participates in Christmas gathers with his family and other holidays that Muslims don't take part in. Is he a liberal Muslim?
