So I see my mom with this white fabric/band around her arm and I ask her what is that. She claims some Afghan moula was the one who gave it to her and it provides "protection". I actually don't even know what it really is but I informed her to not trust these random Afghan moulas since some of them even say music at weddings is permissible. So you can see where my suspicion came from.
Also I know from the Islamic perspective we are not supposed to believe in superstitions or lucky numbers and stuff of that nature. There's a fine line with your deen that you gotta take very seriously.
So my question is anyone of you guys here or read about something of this manner? The white band had some like Koran or something written. I didn't touch it but it has like a black square leather fabric also on the band.
The whole thing is very weird for me but I am curious to hear your guys thoughts on the matter.
