Adventure Time is a hell of a fun show. It doesn’t have the large audience of many big cartoons like Family Guy or The Simpsons. However, it has still done very well for itself. As a result, the show has grown more diverse. Fans have plenty of ways to enjoy the series. That includes a variety of games on a lot of platforms. Adventure Time Run is one of the newer Adventure Time games. It's an infinite runner and it plays like many other infinite runners. It includes boss fights, various levels, and various power ups. Of course, many of the characters make appearances in the game as well. This is obviously a time waster game and its freemium price tag isn't overly desirable. However, the game plays relatively well and we didn't experience any crashes or weird stuff happening during our testing. The developers also added a bunch of stuff since the game came out, including new characters.
Bloons Adventure Time TD is a riff on the popular Bloons TD tower defense game. This is also a tower defense game. You get a variety of towers and heroes to play with, including many cameos from the Adventure Time crew. Players have 200 weapons to collect, 50 allies to recruit, and 15 adventures across 50 total maps. It's a serviceable tower defense game in terms of mechanics and you get a very traditional tower defense experience. The freemium parts of the game get in the way from time to time, but it's otherwise a good experience.
Card Wars and Card Wars Kingdom are the most popular Adventure Time games right now. They're both card collecting games. You'll receive cards with characters from the show, use them to combat other players, and more. Cards are also upgradeable. Both games also feature timed and special events. Card Wars Kingdom is the newer game of the two, although both are pretty old at this point. They are enjoyable for a while if you like card dueling games.
Champions and Challengers is one of the newer Adventure Time games on the list. It's a mobile RPG with gacha elements. Players can recruit over 70 characters with varying abilities and stats. It uses turn-by-turn combat mechanics and there is also online PvP. It's not the most unique game we've seen in terms of mechanics so don't expect anything too wild here. You basically collect the characters you like, make them as good as they can be, and use them to defeat bad guys and other players. It's a freemium game like most gachas so those who play that genre know what to expect here.
CN Superstar Soccer is a sports game with a bunch of Cartoon Network cameos in it. That includes shows like Adventure Time, We Bare Bears, The Amazing World of Gumball, and several others. Players grab up a bunch of characters and play some soccer. You get access to a bunch of powers that give the game a more arcade feel rather than a serious soccer game. In addition, there is a local and online multiplayer mode as well if you want to play with or against friends. The game runs for $2.99 and has no further in-app purchases.
