Morphe Eyeshadow ES21 Gum Drop Review

I bought 7 eyeshadows from Morphe recently. I have already tried and tested several single eyeshadows, makeup brushes, and other makeup products from this brand. I have been reviewing them as I form an opinion about them. These days, I exclusively use Morphe eyeshadows for my every day makeup. In this post, I am reviewing Morphe Eyeshadow ES21 Gum Drop.

My Experience with Morphe Eyeshadow ES21 Gum Drop:

The image of this eyeshadow on the website is extremely misleading and unfortunately, this is the case with most eye and lip product images on the company’s website. The color of the shadow “Gum Drop” on the website appears to be a neutral-toned, pale brown color, but in reality, it is a bright, cool-toned pink-orange shade which is perfect to create vibrant, summer eye makeup looks. Morphe should up its ante and post accurate images on their website so that people can make better selection according to their needs. Be as it may, this shade turned out to be a good shade for my skin tone and it’s a pretty vibrant color.

Morphe Eyeshadow ES21 Gum Drop has a matte finish and comes housed tightly packed in an aluminium pan. The eyeshadow has some fallout, the kind which is not unusual for matte finish pressed powder shadows. However, it is easy to pick up using a fluffy brush and blend out on my skin tone, just a coat of this color would not be visible on the skin and multiple swipes would be required to enhance the visibility of the color. I prefer wearing it on top of a darker shade while blending it into my eye socket to make it more apparent on my skin tone.

On fair skin tones, this color appears vibrant even without a dark shade underneath. For creating a fall-appropriate look, I blended this color into my eye socket, with a pale brown color from Morphe, to tone down the yellow and give the appearance a more winter vibe than summer.

Irrespective of the price or the quality of the eyeshadow, I have to wear a good primer underneath since I have oily lids and without a potent primer underneath, the color starts to collect in the crease of my lids. With primer underneath, I was able to achieve a good wear time from this eyeshadow. Single eyeshadows from Morphe come securely packed in a hard-cardboard case and all of them arrived safely without any damage. The product comes pressed in an aluminium pan and I was glad to see that for such a low price, the brand provides a generous amount of product.

• The packaging is very sturdy and stays intact during shipping. None of the eyeshadows crumbled or broke during shipping.
• Comes in a good-sized aluminium pan. The product quantity is appreciable for the money paid.
• Morphe Gum Drop is a bright, cool-toned pink-orange shade which is perfect to create vibrant, summery eye makeup looks.
• Good pigmentation and intense color payoff, especially more apparent on fair skin tones.
• Soft texture, easy to pick up with a flat brush or a fluffy brush.
• Staying power of 6 to 8 hours with a good primer underneath.
• Affordable, perfect for making custom eyeshadow palette.
• This color with suit most skin tones, perfect to create sunset eye look or vibrant summer looks.

Cons of Morphe Eyeshadow ES21 Gum Drop:

• The image of this product on the company website is misleading and appears more brown than yellow.
• The color does not last long on my lids without a good primer underneath.

Do I Recommend Morphe Eyeshadow ES21 Gum Drop?
It is a beautiful, vibrant summer color with cool undertones and is perfect to create a bright eye looks. It is affordable and will complement all skin tones. I highly recommend these eyeshadows by Morphe.
